We took away all the small pieces so she is just left with a doll and the dress she came with in. Our doctor saw it and thought that was fine. If you don't like that idea, how about those Disney princess dolls that are plush? like this one-=-1&categoryId=13933 They might work for your daughter. I don't think they are "Barbie" brand though, but she won't know the difference. Look for them on Ebay if you can't find any in toy stores.
